How to Change Plans with T-Mobile

Wireless plans change all the time. Sometimes, that works in your favor – you can pay the same or less and get more for your money.

If you’ve found a new plan with T-Mobile (hopefully Wireless Butler helped you do it!),  here’s how to get it and avoid some pitfalls along the way:

  • Call 611 from your T-Mobile phone or call 877-746-0909
  • Ask the customer care agent to change your plan to the new one you’ve found
  • Also ask him or her to backdate your plan changes so you can avoid overages

Keep in mind, if you are switching to a plan with a lower data allowance, T-Mobile will not allow you to backdate the changes. You may see prorated charges on your bill as a result. If you’d like to avoid them, just ask the agent to apply your plan changes at the beginning of your next bill cycle.
